Export report to PDF, PPTX and PNG files using Power BI REST API (Preview)
We are thrilled to announce an additional layer of capabilities, allowing you to export a Power BI report by using a REST call, to the following file formats: PDF, PPTX (PowerPoint) and PNG.
The Publish to web default is changing and it affects who can create public embed codes
The change to the Publish to web default experience announced in 2019 will start rolling out this week. It requires Power BI admins to take action before users can create new publish to web embed codes. This blog help you understand what users can expect and what actions admins should take as the change rolls out.

Power BI Desktop November Feature Summary
This month conditional formatting gets a major update with the ability to control the color based on rules. If you have a slow data source, we now have report options that help limit the number of queries that are sent to the source. Finally, we are also adding several formatting features, including cell alignment for table and matrix, and precise control over the order of overlapping charts on your report.
Visualizing and interacting with your Azure Machine Learning Studio experiments
Microsoft Senior Program Manager Christian Berg is back with another entry in his series on becoming your organization’s strategic advisor with Machine Learning and Power BI. In part 6, he lookd at connecting to an Azure ML Studio experiment with an Rviz and then building on that to create a dynamic report to explore cross price elasticities. He also looks at a simpler example where we instead use DAX to explore the impact of different discount percentages, based on an assumption about our elasticity.

Filters coming for phone reports
Reports are one of the most powerful features of Power BI. Several months ago, we introduced phone reports, and we continue to improve on them. Phone reports allow creators to optimize for the size, shape, and touch interaction of a phone, with minimal effort. Phone reports enhance the mobile experience, with features such as a dedicated focus mode for visuals, the ability to drill in visuals, sorting options, and collapsible menus. Today we’re excited to introduce filters as are our latest improvement to phone reports.

He outlines setting up your data source in the enterprise gateway, and how to ensure that your user and your domain are correctly configured in Analysis Services and Active Direcory with the credentials needed to access your data in Power BI.
