You've just spent days building a report highlighting your sales figures from your accounting system for the last month and you want the default to always be the last month. The current month is not of interest as the numbers are not complete.
But you also want your users to be able to go back in time and select a previous period. Or look at the current month to see how we're trending. Using the built in date slicer you will soon realise that you can't easily have it both ways. Selecting the month prior to this month is already quite a complex undertaking using the default slicers.
With our dynamic date dimension you can easily place a month slicer on your report and rest assured that every time a user visits the report it will show the correct date range. no need to re-publish the report month on month to keep slicers in sync.
This solution also provides you with options to slice on weeks, fortnights and fiscal quarters. It lets you adjust the fiscal accounting period using simple query parameters and provides you with multiple sorting options so you can easily decide if your most recent data should flow left to right or right to left.
Best of all, it is very easy to add to your existing reports. Within a few steps we will show you how to embed this tool into your existing reports and start using the new slicers from day 1.
