Last fall we introduced industry-leading Power BI data protection capabilities in public preview. Today we’re happy to announce these capabilities are generally available (GA), along with new and exciting capabilities we’re announcing in this space! We’ve also worked hard to ensure that Power BI is part of an end-to-end security platform that is easy to use, integrated with productivity solutions, and enables remote work. Power BI’s data protection capabilities help people to securely uncover insight, collaborate, and share appropriately no matter where data goes – even outside the organizational network or on unmanaged devices.
We’re excited to announce the release of Power BI APIs .NET SDK v3. The new version is easier to use, have additional capabilities including the new credentials classes and easier way to encrypt credentials.
We’re excited to bring you a new version of Power BI Report Server this month! With this update, we have a ton of enhancements, including a new field list, new and improved shape options, and several visual formatting features.

Microsoft Senior Program Manager Christian Berg is back with another entry in his series on becoming your organization’s strategic advisor with Machine Learning and Power BI. In part 6, he lookd at connecting to an Azure ML Studio experiment with an Rviz and then building on that to create a dynamic report to explore cross price elasticities. He also looks at a simpler example where we instead use DAX to explore the impact of different discount percentages, based on an assumption about our elasticity.

Feb 2020 gateway release
Power BI’s accessibility documentation has been expanded from one article to five new articles for you to explore. We hope that these new articles will help you learn more about how Power BI can empower your organization, report creators, and report consumers through accessibility.
Power BI integrates with cutting-edge big data, data warehouse, and data virtualization technologies, such as Denodo. The Denodo platform uses data virtualization on-premises and in the cloud to facilitate the adoption of a logical architecture or data fabric that can help to boost the productivity of Power BI report authors and business users through self-service data discovery and search. One of the key elements is support of Single Sign-On (SSO). SSO lets you enforce end-to-end access controls and security at all layers of the stack, from Power BI, through Denodo, all the way to the data sources.
Back in December, we launched a new create experience within the Power BI service that allowed you to quick explore your data with just a few clicks. Now, we’re excited to announce, as our first integration of this experience, the launch of our Power BI integration within SharePoint lists. This experience empowers SharePoint list and Microsoft List users to easily explore their list data with just a few clicks.
We are excited to announce new improvements to Power BI dataflows releasing this month including an enhanced compute engine to drastically improve data refresh times and a new set of dataflow templates to help you easily connect to common data sources mapped against the common data model.
