I am super excited to announce that the Power BI Mobile apps now support datasets.
We know that this long-awaited feature will help dataset owners manage their dataset directly from the mobile app, allowing them immediately respond to failures and unlock their users who need fresh data in their reports.
Here’s how you can access and manage datasets from Power BI Mobile apps:
- Go to a workspace and select the “Dataset” pill at the top. You will see the list of datasets you can access in that workspace.
- Tap on a dataset to see its metadata, such as name, owner, sensitivity label, and latest refresh status. You can also see the latest refresh time and the next refresh schedule of the dataset.
- Tap the “Refresh now” button to trigger a manual dataset refresh. This will update the data in the dataset and the reports that use it.
If another user already triggered a refresh, the button will be disabled and indicate that a refresh is in progress.
Get notified when a refresh fails.
And that’s not all – we’ve also added support for push notifications that will be sent to you if a scheduled refresh fails. So, you’ll never miss a beat when you’re on the go!
Push notifications are sent to the same users that are receiving mail notifications. This includes the dataset owner and any additional recipient that the owner defined in the dataset setting page at the Power BI online service.
