Revenue Performance

Var. To Target & Last Year

This view is meant for the financial manager whose main focus is centred on the revenue of the business.

This view breaks down revenue data into key indicators of revenue across time and key revenue numbers. The charts breaks down those numbers across time.

  1. Quick Numbers on key indicators (Revenue, Var. to Target, YoY Revenue) and a breakdown of revenue by Regions

  2. Revenue performance to target (full periods)

  3. Revenue performance to same period last year

The waterfall charts for Revenue variance to Target and Year on Year Across time allows for quick comparisons of revenue to target across time. Clicking into the variance to target charts will allow a view into how the business was also doing last year, to observe trends compared to the previous year. Not meeting targets this year, and doing worse than last year should be a “double red flag” that the financial manger should act on.

Product Analysis

This view is meant for the Product Manager whose discussion of meeting targets is centred on product performance to target.

This view displays key visuals which tracks the contribution of revenue by product across time:

  1. Quick Numbers on key indicators (Revenue, Var. to Target, YoY Revenue)

  2. Revenue performance to target (to-date)

  3. Revenue Performance of Products to Target

a. Can be drilled to show products within groups

  1. Revenue Performance by Shifts

a. Can be drilled to Peak/Off Peak at a shift level

Again, using the Variance to Target waterfall chart as the backbone of the analysis, the Product Manager can quickly spot time periods in which the business is meeting/not meeting Targets. Once a period of interest is found, the user will be able to check on the how the products are doing, which specific products are contributing to revenue and which are falling short of targets in the Revenue Performance of Products to Target bar chart. The product manager can further delve into the specific periods in which such products are doing well/not doing well.

Country Analysis

This view is meant for the Regional/Country Manager whose discussion of meeting targets is centred Countries and their ability to meet targets.

This view shows a breakdown of Revenue by Region/Country:

  1. Filters to Slice to Specific Countries

  2. Quick Numbers on key indicators (Revenue, Var. to Target, YoY Revenue)

  3. Revenue Performance to Target (to-date)

  4. Revenue Performance by Region/Country (to-date)

a. Region can be drilled to Country level

  1. Revenue Performance by Shifts

a. Can be drilled to Peak/Off Peak at a shift level

Using the Variance to Target Waterfall chart as a start point and the country filters as start point, the regional manager can drill to view the performance of countries or regions to check on their performance across a time period. The Total Rev to Target by Country group Chart also functions as a filter of the data by Region. Once finding a point of interest, the manager is able to drill down to observe revenue performance to target by Shifts as well.

Country Overview

This view is meant to complement the country analysis, or for presentation/dashboard purposes to track country performance in a more visual manner.

This view attempts to show the Country Revenue and Performance in a single global view:

  1. Tree Map Showing Revenue Contribution of a region (by Size) and Variance to Target (by Colour)

a. Allows for drilling to Country level

  1. Quick Numbers (to-date) on key indicators (Revenue, Var. to Target, YoY Revenue)

  2. Map showing Country Revenue Distribution (by Size) and Variance to Target (by Colour)

This view shows Revenue performance, at a glance on a global scale, using the size of the bubbles to denote revenue in each country, allowing for quick comparisons as to which countries contribute the most revenue. The colour shades in each bubble denote how well each country is performing to its set target. The tree map to the left acts as a filter as well as an indication of a region/country’s revenue; the user is able to drill the tree map up or down to a region or country level. Colours provide quick indications to which countries/regions performance to target.
