Power BI integrates with cutting-edge big data, data warehouse, and data virtualization technologies, such as Denodo. The Denodo platform uses data virtualization on-premises and in the cloud to facilitate the adoption of a logical architecture or data fabric that can help to boost the productivity of Power BI report authors and business users through self-service data discovery and search. One of the key elements is support of Single Sign-On (SSO). SSO lets you enforce end-to-end access controls and security at all layers of the stack, from Power BI, through Denodo, all the way to the data sources.

We’re excited to bring you a new version of Power BI Report Server this month! With this update, we have a ton of enhancements, including a new field list, new and improved shape options, and several visual formatting features.
Back in December, we launched a new create experience within the Power BI service that allowed you to quick explore your data with just a few clicks. Now, we’re excited to announce, as our first integration of this experience, the launch of our Power BI integration within SharePoint lists. This experience empowers SharePoint list and Microsoft List users to easily explore their list data with just a few clicks.

Empower your end-users to go from insight to action. With the new Power Automate visual, end-users can run an automated flow all within a Power BI report. Furthermore, the executed flow can be data contextual, meaning that the Flow inputs can be dynamic based on the filters set by the end-user.
We’re excited to announce a new sharing experience that allows sharing reports via links. Previously in the old experience, we supported sharing reports by granting direct access. For the new experience, reports can be shared via links in addition to direct access sharing.
Today, I’m excited to announce the public preview of a new workspace experience in Power BI. The new workspace experience is designed to enable enterprises to easily manage Power BI content at scale using security groups, distribution lists, and Office 365 Groups. When using the new workspace experiences, you can create App workspaces without creating an underlying Office 365 Group. This blog explains what is changing and how you can plan ahead to be ready.
July is a big release for us on the Power BI Desktop team! Our most exciting feature this month is a preview of Composite models. This feature lets you seamlessly extend your DirectQuery models with other DirectQuery sources or even imported data. We have heard from many of you, especially those in larger enterprises, that this is an essential feature and are glad to share it with all of you. We also have many reporting features this month, including an update to our visual header that lets you not only put visual all the way to the top of your canvas, but also have extensive control over the functionality and formatting of the header.
