Power BI April 2021 Feature Summary

Welcome to the first Power BI feature summary of the Spring! In this update we have an exciting new preview for the Power Automate visual! Also, the ongoing previews (Small Multiples and DirectQuery for Power BI datasets and Azure Analysis Services) are getting some new features. Next to that, we are presenting huge improvements to the shapes in Power BI Desktop and we are introducing a new, easier, way to share reports. To top it off, enhancements to Sensitivity Labels provide for even better protection of your data. Of course, there is much more, so read on!

Power BI March 2021 Feature Summary

This month, we are continuing our work on the ongoing previews of DirectQuery for PowerBI datasets and Azure Analysis Services, Small Multiples, and the Model View UI. Also, we are making it easier to specify filters in the DAX CALCULATE function. On the Service side, when you click on a dataset in the workspace list view you will be taken to our new dataset details page, which includes information about when the report was last refreshed as well as actions such as creating a new report. Power BI February 2021 Feature Summary

Welcome to the first feature summary of 2021! This month, we have a couple of updates on ongoing previews, as well as a new color picker that features RGB color selector and a search bar to make discovery of features easier. Additionally, we are introducing new filter operations and enable subscriptions for reports and dashboards that have row-level security applied. DirectQuery for Power BI datasets and Azure Analysis Services (preview)

In Nov 2018, we released composite models, which allow you to seamlessly add multiple DirectQuery sources and imported data to your models. We have heard your feedback that you would like to do this with sources you previously live connected to, like Power BI datasets and Azure Analysis Services sources. We are excited to announce that DirectQuery for Power BI datasets and Azure Analysis Services is now in preview! This long-awaited addition allows report authors to use DirectQuery to connect to Azure Analysis Services or Power BI Datasets as sources in combination with other DirectQuery and imported data

Power BI November 2020 Feature Summary

Our anomaly detection algorithm detects that there is an anomaly this month: Anomaly Detection is in preview! Also, we are announcing a preview of the new Field List and the Model View. We are adding a fan-favorite: the Visual Zoom Slider! In the Service, endorsements for datasets and dataflows are extended to reports and apps, enabling business users to be confident they are making decisions based on the right data. Power BI October 2020 Feature Summary

Visuals, visuals, visuals. It is (almost) all about visuals this month with loads of new visuals and updates to existing visuals. Also, we are helping users getting started with the introduction of canvas watermarks. Power BI is getting a shiny new icon and we are adding a dismiss option to the Power BI Desktop splash screen. The personalization of visuals is now generally available and we are introducing dynamic M query parameters in preview. On the mobile side, we are (amongst others) adding support for notch displays and on the Service, we have some updates about the ‘new look’ experience.
