Join us for Power BI Dev Camp on Thursday 28 July, 2022 at 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM (noon) PDT.ย Ted Pattison from the Microsoft Power BI team presents this month’s topic:ย What Is Synapse Link and How to Connect from Power BI to Dataverse
The July session of Power BI Dev Camp will be led by urban legend, Scott Sewell, from the Power BI CAT team. Scott will examine theย whyย andย howย of using Synapse Link to connect from Power BI to large volumes of data from a Dataverse instance.ย Most Dataverse implementations, whether they are Power Apps or Dynamics 365 CE on the front-end, contain amazingly valuable data for end-users and for an organization’s leadership.
While Direct Query provides one way to connect from Power BI to Dataverse, it does not scale well in scenarios with larger data volumes. Enterprise deployments will benefit from using the new Synapse Link feature, which is far more scalable in terms of handling larger volumes of data. Learn the surprising options, best practices, and potential pitfalls of connecting from Power BI to Dataverse though Synapse Server.
Attendee Prerequisites: It’s recommended (but not required) that campers have experience working with Dataverse with either Power Apps or Dynamics 365 CE.
