We are happy to announce that we have just released the December update for the On-premises data gateway (version 3000.68.15)

ย

**We recently fixed a bug in the December release and have updated the release to version 3000.68.15**

Here are some of the things that we would like to highlight with this monthโ€™sย  release:

  • Azure Cosmos DB connector on Gateway
  • December Version of the mashup engine
  • .Net Framework Update
  • Deprecation Notices
    • Kerberos single sign-on (SSO) to SAP BW using gx64krb5
    • SAML single sign-on (SSO) to SAP HANA using OpenSSL

Azure Cosmos DB Connector on Gateway

We are happy to announce that you can now connect to Azure Cosmos DB using the on-premises data gateway with the December gateway.

December version of the mashup engine

This monthโ€™s Gateway update also includes an updated version of the Mashup Engine, which will match the Power BI Desktop December update. This will ensure that the reports that you publish to the Power BI Service and refresh via the Gateway will go through the same query execution logic/run-time as in the latest Power BI Desktop version.

.Net Framework Update

The Gateway install will require .NET 4.8 framework in all versions from February 2021 and later. For information on what version of the .NET Framework is pre-installed with your operating system, consult the documentationย here.

Deprecation Notice –ย Kerberos single sign-on (SSO) to SAP BW using gx64krb5

Microsoft is discontinuing support forย the use of gx64krb5 while creating SAP BW data sources in Power BI, effective immediately. Existing connections will continue to work but you will not be able to create new connections starting February 2021. Going forward, please use CommonCryptoLib instead .

Please continue to send us feedback for what new capabilities youโ€™d like to see in the future.

Deprecation Notice –ย SAML single sign-on (SSO) to SAP HANA using OpenSSLย

Microsoft is also discontinuing support forย the use of OpenSSL while creating SAP HANA data sources in Power BI, effective immediately.ย Existing connections will continue to work but you will not be able to create new connections starting February 2021.
