Power BI – TfL Video Description
At the heart of every organisation is one key thing: data. Data that can empower every individual within every organisation to achieve more. Data that can change businesses, change processes, and change the world.
Take Transport for London (TfL) for example. They have access to reams and reams of data to help them keep one of the world’s busiest cities moving. And with Power BI, they could quickly and easily visualise that data in a brand new way. A way that could reinvent productivity and business processes within TfL.
Using Power BI, TfL could, for example, add live data to an SVG file of the London tube map and immediately see which lines are experiencing delays. Or they could delve into past data, allowing them to detect any trends in tube delays.
Similarly, by using Power BI’s Bing map function, TfL could also map all of London’s traffic webcams, complete with the camera’s current view. By combining this map with live data on road disruptions in London (as we have done), TfL could immediately see any minor, moderate, or major traffic delays, and identify the nearest traffic cameras. They could then view the feeds of these cameras, quickly identify the cause of the delay, and resolve it as quickly as possible.
In short, by utilising the power of Power BI, TfL could keep commuters happy, and keep London’s intricate transport systems moving.
Because that’s what Power BI does – it gives organisations the power to make better decisions, create better outcomes, and ultimately achieve more. The sky is truly the limit with Power BI, and with it your organisation can begin the journey to a more personal computing experience – one that meets your unique needs and solves your unique challenges.
