This post will look at two different approaches for expanding a record from a list using Power BI and a bit of M syntax. In our specific case, a customer wanted to pull data from a record that was listed in the table output of a SharePoint list.
In the April release of Power BI Desktop we release a powerful feature called ‘quick measures’ that helps create DAX measures based on templates for common patterns and expressions. You can submit your common calculations that would be helpful for the rest of the community on our new Quick Measures Gallery. We’ll evaluate the DAX statement and may use it as the basis of a future quick measure – you can even get your name immortalized in Power BI Desktop!

The SAP Accounts Receivable solution template provides an end to end solution that contains AR data and reports sourced from your SAP system. Once a quarter, we run a survey to get insight into your level of satisfaction with Power BI and to get feedback on how to make the Desktop experience even better. This is a great chance to provide direct feedback to the product team and help shape future releases of Power BI Desktop. In addition, you’ll have the chance to win some prizes.
