Balanced Scorecards in Power BI

While the Power KPI visual has been a necessary building block for us in the presentation of KPIs, by itself it doesn’t provide a scorecard layout. Some users, including executives, really wanted a tabular, scorecard style of KPIs. For this, we developed a second custom visual called Power KPI Matrix. Power KPI Matrix supports an unlimited number of KPIs in a single visual, along with optional categorizations, images, and sparklines. With the latest version, 2.0, it also includes an interactive pop-out of the full Power KPI chart within the visual for a given selected cell. While we developed it primarily for our own team and purpose, it has also been made available for free to the public.

We are also updating our bookmarking preview with new features that provide you much more flexibility. A highly requested feature, the ability to drill to filter other visuals on the page, is also coming out this month. You can take advantage of several new connectors and major updates to existing ones.

Esri Plus Subscription for ArcGIS Maps for Power BI is now available

Today, I’m happy to announce that Esri is taking ArcGIS Maps for Power BI to the next level by introducing Plus, a subscription service available for purchase from Esri that allows everyday business users in Power BI to do more with their spatial data. What is Plus? In a word: More. More basemaps, more data points, more demographics, more reference layers. It’s a step in our journey to make GIS easy to understand and consume for regular business users. Plus is inspired by many of the feature requests you have made since we introduce ArcGIS Maps for Power BI.
