Power BI November 2020 Feature Summary

Our anomaly detection algorithm detects that there is an anomaly this month: Anomaly Detection is in preview! Also, we are announcing a preview of the new Field List and the Model View. We are adding a fan-favorite: the Visual Zoom Slider! In the Service, endorsements for datasets and dataflows are extended to reports and apps, enabling business users to be confident they are making decisions based on the right data. Power BI October 2020 Feature Summary

Visuals, visuals, visuals. It is (almost) all about visuals this month with loads of new visuals and updates to existing visuals. Also, we are helping users getting started with the introduction of canvas watermarks. Power BI is getting a shiny new icon and we are adding a dismiss option to the Power BI Desktop splash screen. The personalization of visuals is now generally available and we are introducing dynamic M query parameters in preview. On the mobile side, we are (amongst others) adding support for notch displays and on the Service, we have some updates about the ‘new look’ experience.

Power BI September 2020 Feature Summary

Starting this month, we have merged the Power BI Desktop, Service and Mobile blogs so there is one overview of everything that is new in this month. For now, let us get started because we have exciting updates this month! Amongst others, in the analytics area, we introduce a preview of the Smart narratives visual which helps you quickly summarize visuals and reports by providing relevant out-of-the-box insights which is customizable. On the reporting side, several things are added, including the introduction of controls for the z-order of visuals, and searching for a workspace during publish. For modeling, the enhanced dataset metadata that was previously in preview is now generally available. Power BI Desktop April 2020 Feature Summary

We have a ton of great updates this release! We’re excited to announce a new visual personalization feature to allow your end-users to explore and personalize visuals all within the consumption view of a report! Also this month, if you’re interested in fast refresh scenarios, you will find these new features very useful: change detection for page refresh and support for relative time filters in minutes and hours. On top of this, we are releasing several other features, including rectangular lasso select across visuals, conditional formatting for totals and subtotals, Direct Query support for AI visuals: decomposition tree and key influencers, several updates to Q&A, and more!

Power BI Desktop March 2020 Feature Summary

We have great updates this month! We are releasing new button actions, multi-column sort for tables, dual axis for line chart, a search for the filter pane, updates to decomposition tree, and much more! We are also releasing a preview of an enhanced dataset metadata feature, which will be foundational for XMLA read/write and for management of Power BI dataset and the migration of Analysis Services workloads to Power BI. Power BI Desktop December 2019 Feature Summary

This December update is packed with several new features! In preview, we have the new Customize theme dialog that allows you to tweak common theme settings without having to write or modify a JSON file! Additionally, we now allow you to export the current theme as a JSON so you can easily share, reuse, or make modifications to the JSON in an editor. Last month, we released the new decomposition tree, and this month, we are adding several new formatting options. With these additional formatting options, you can completely customize the tree to look the way you want and make it really feel like part of your report.
