Power BI Service March Update

It’s already March, which means we are starting the final countdown to the Microsoft Data Insights Summit on March 22nd and 23rd! We’re all very excited here on the Power BI team, and we hope many of you will be able to join us at the Summit. It’s going to be a very exciting event, with several big feature announcements happening. We don’t want to reveal anything too soon, but below you’ll find several small features we shipped in the past month to hold you over until then.

The Windows Dev Center content pack for Power BI provides a quick and convenient way to monitor day-to-day updates to your apps’ analytics data without having to log into your Dev Center account, and gives you a rich set of visuals and filters you can customize to discover new insights. The Windows Dev Center content pack for Power BI provides analytics data for app and IAP acquisitions, ratings, reviews, and health data, for all your apps.

Custom visual authors: sandboxing is coming and here’s what you need to know

We’ve seen tremendous momentum with end users, solution integrators, and ISVs all building custom visuals to integrate with Power BI so users have access to faster, repeatable data driven decision making tools. As we plan ahead for the custom visuals feature with the goal of bringing it out of preview later this year, you should be aware of a few steps that we’re taking now to prepare.
