Power BI November 2024 Feature Summary

Welcome to the November 2024 update. We’re thrilled to introduce Copilot in Power BI Mobile apps, bringing AI to your fingertips for a smarter, faster way to explore data on the go. This month’s update also includes a new Path layer for the Azure Map visual, making geospatial analysis even more powerful by helping you easily map connections between multiple locations. We’re also introducing the OneLake catalog, the latest evolution of the OneLake data hub, offers a unified platform for data engineers, data scientists, analysts, and decision-makers to browse, manage, and govern data seamlessly—all from one intuitive interface.

Announcing: Now organizations can require users to set MIP sensitivity labels in Power BI (Preview)

The mandatory label policy setting requires users to apply MIP labels when they create new content, edit unlabeled content in the Power BI service, or upload unlabeled PBIX files \via Publish from Desktop or Get data in the Power BI service

Power BI June 2021 Feature Summary

Welcome to the June update! Loads of updates on connectors this time around. Also, DirectQuery support for Dataflows is now generally available! On top of that, we are happy to announce the preview of the paginated reports visual – we know many of you have been eagerly awaiting it, so take it for a spin and provide your feedback! Our Small Multiples and DirectQuery for Power BI datasets and Azure Analysis Services previews are still ongoing and receiving some updates this month. There is much more, so read on!

Paginated report visual for Power BI reports is now available in public preview

We’re pleased to announced that the long-anticipated public preview of the paginated report visual for Power BI reports is now available in the June release of Power BI Desktop.  For the first time, this native Power BI visual allows you to render any paginated report you’ve uploaded to the service in a Power BI report.  And because you can wire up fields from your Power BI dataset to be used as parameter values, thus providing a fully-interactive experience with the paginated report, just like any other visual.
