Optimus Information - City of Vancouver Department Data

These dashboards show information from different departments within the City of Vancouver. We take a look at the City's question and complaint phone line, the business license application department, and the road construction and maintenance department.

Using this dashboard, the CoV can track and assess many things:

311 Phone Calls

The 311 phone line is used by residents of Vancouver when they have municipality-related questions, concerns or complaints. When calls are received by the CoV, information about each call is logged, tracked and stored in a data set. In the top right, we can select a specific date range we’d like to investigate. 

Here we can see call volume by: 

  • Month
  • Day of the week
  • Department
  • Division, which are subsections with a department
  • Case type, or type of complaint

Business License Applications

This shows us peak application times, the types of applications submitted in different areas in Vancouver. We can see the number of Business Licenses applications in the Vancouver by:

  • Location, or neighbourhood
  • Business type
  • Month

RoadAhead Data

This page shows us RoadAhead data and the events which affect the roads in Vancouver. We can see road closures, road construction and upcoming projects by date. It’s interesting to see this steep increase from 2014 to 2017.
