Power BI Desktop February 2019 Feature Summary

The February update for Power BI Desktop has a preview of our new Key Influencers visual, which lets you perform key drivers analysis over your data with just a few clicks. We also have some major updates for Q&A with the addition of auto-generated questions and the ability to ask Insights related questions. Our partners and community have added a lot of new connectors and custom visuals this month as well. Lastly, to round things out, we have some formatting and visual improvements this month.

Power BI Desktop May Feature Summary

This month we have major updates across all areas of Power BI Desktop. Along with many other reporting features, we have our biggest update to conditional formatting in while, the ability to format any fields, including strings and dates, by a different field in the model. Drillthrough also gets a major update this month with the ability to carry all filters through to the destination page. We are also enabling enterprise level scalability through incremental data refresh.

Power BI Desktop August Feature Summary

This month we are very excited to release our What if feature, which we previewed in the Data Insights Summit keynote back in June. We’ve also added even more features for our table and matrix visual, including a formatting option to show values on rows of your matrix. We also have several new analytics features, such as symmetry shading and ratio lines for scatter charts.

Power BI Desktop June Feature Summary

Our June release is full of new reporting features, new data connectors, accessibility features, and more. A few highlights of the June release are the addition of data bars to tables and matrices, markers for line charts, new map themes, and a horizontal image slicer. In addition, we are continuing to improve the “Add Column from Example” feature in the Query Editor.
