Power BI November 2024 Feature Summary

Welcome to the November 2024 update. We’re thrilled to introduce Copilot in Power BI Mobile apps, bringing AI to your fingertips for a smarter, faster way to explore data on the go. This month’s update also includes a new Path layer for the Azure Map visual, making geospatial analysis even more powerful by helping you easily map connections between multiple locations. Power BI May 2021 Feature Summary

It’s just over a week after MBAS. The storm has quieted down, and life is back to normal. This can only mean one thing – it’s time for this month’s update! Gartner Modern Analytics and BI Platforms Bake-off 2021: Analysis of impact of COVID-19 with Power BI

Each year, Gartner invite vendors from the BI and Analytics Magic Quadrant to show how their product can help solve real-world problems and find insights in real-world data. In previous years we’ve looked into the opioid crisis in the USA, global happiness, and life expectancy. This year the impact of COVID-19 was the obvious candidate! There is a wealth of data available on the internet, and while Gartner gave us some direction for the business questions we would investigate, we could use data from any number of sources to do the analysis. Announcing support for backup and restore of Power BI datasets

e are excited to announce the public preview of Backup and Restore for datasets in Power BI Premium and Premium per User (PPU). You can now use SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Analysis Services cmdlets for PowerShell, and other tools to perform backup and restore operations in Power BI via XMLA endpoints in much the same way as you would for tabular models in Azure Analysis Services (Azure AS).
