Open and edit any semantic model with Power BI tools

This month, we’re excited to share a major milestone for Power BI modelling tools – Power BI Desktop is now compatible with any semantic model in Fabric. With this update, you’re no longer required to rely on external tools to edit a semantic model running in Fabric. At the same time, it enhances interoperability between external tools and Power BI Desktop, enabling them to do even more.

Translytical task flows (Preview)

We are thrilled to announce that Power BI report buttons can now run Fabric User data functions for custom, automated action, including data write-back. This marks a major evolution in Power BI reports to support all kinds of translytical task flows, such as updating records, dynamic notifications, adding annotations, or even creating powerful workflows that trigger actions in other systems.
